We are deeply appreciative to The Key, the Northfield Union of Youth, for inviting us to bring The Wandering House to their “Night to Unite” event on August 6. Thanks to the contributions of multiple “Key Kids” we have reached over 100 recorded testimonies and we couldn’t be more excited for what lies ahead.
We were fortunate to witness this celebration during which kids sipped on lemonade, devoured beef hot dogs, and shared slices of scrumptious watermelon. People mingled and enthusiastically commented on the flow and open feeling of the renovated space; youths performed music on stage, and the whole atmosphere exuded joy and a feeling of homecoming.
For many, The Key embodies a welcoming and safe space; a home of sorts where creativity is encouraged and even expected. It is a place that never fails to remind us how eclectic Northfield can be. We are grateful to The Key, both youth and staff, for adding their voices to our investigation of home and belonging and look forward to a continued collaboration.
Below we share with you some glimpses of the people whose work and dedication make a space like The Key possible in Northfield. Many of them took part of our project as well!
Long Live The Key!
